Detention (Waiting Time) - is a charge for waiting time, when not the fault of the carrier. This charge is subject to several special conditions but in general it is only charged during normal work hours and only after an hour or two of non-chargeable time has passed, depending on the distance or chargeable mileage for this move. On hourly moves, there will not normally be a non-chargeable waiting time.

Destination Agent - Usually an agent for the carrier who, in certain circumstances, may become involved with the move. They may supply labor to the van operator or driver transporting the goods. They may also be assigned to perform unpacking service, if that service has been ordered. This agent may provide temporary storage services (Storage-In-Transit; S.I.T.) if needed. In an international relocation this term can mean a person or company designated in the destination area to help arrange customs clearance and delivery of the shipment and to assist and provide information.

Disassembling and Reassembling - Transportation charges do not include removing any outdoor article embedded in the ground or secured to a building nor the disassembling and/or assembling of any outdoor article such as steel utility cabinets, swing sets, jungle gyms or similar articles. Also, articles found in the home or building that cannot be safely transported in their assembled, set-up configuration. Some examples are German Shrunks, water beds, steel shelving, pool tables, oversized work tables, counters, particle-board furniture, and other articles of an unusual nature. The carrier, upon request, may provide or arrange for a Third Party to provide the disassembly and reassembly service. The shipper will pay all charges for this service and the shipper will provide all new hardware necessary for reassembly service.

Diversion or Re-consignment - Upon instructions from the consignee or the owner of a shipment, the delivery instructions may be changed. This request is usually required in writing, and depending on the point in the relocation process the request is made, extra charges may apply.
