Inland Move (sometimes called Port On) - A term used in International relocation referring to the movement of the goods from the “Port of Entry” to the final location. This move will always be within same country.
Inspection of Articles - The carrier or it’s agent (the packer or driver) can ask to inspect the contents of a package or require other sufficient evidence to determine the nature and condition of the property.
Insurance Certificate - A form detailing the dates and insurance coverage carried by the mover. Many commercial and apartment buildings will need to have this document on file prior to allowing the mover to work in the building. It may also pertain to a document detailing and confirming that insurance is established for a specific move if insurance coverage is purchased in addition to the movers’ liability.
Interstate Move - Any move that crosses a state line, regardless of the number of miles.
Intrastate Move - Any move that stays within one state.
Inventory - A list of the goods to be moved and the condition of those goods; a list of the belongings in transit or storage.
